Inspired by the video game Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Sword & Shield—Astral Shine features numerous Hisui Pokémon and illustrations that showcase the Hisui region. The expansion also introduces Radiant Pokémon, a new gameplay mechanic featuring Shiny Pokémon highlighted by embossed illustrations.
Radiant Pokémon usually have a powerful ability or move with the potential to affect the Pokémon TCG metagame. Players can only add one Radiant Pokémon to their deck.
In addition, Sword & Shield—Astral Shine will continue to shine a spotlight on Pokémon-VSTAR and will include a special Trainer Gallery subset of 30 cards featuring beautiful illustrations of popular Trainers and Pokémon.
