The novelties of the Scarlet & Violet Pokemon era
The Pokemon Company has officially unveiled the next era of the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG). The new era is based on the latest Pokemon games and now introduces us to the new generation 9 in the TCG area. The new era will start with the Base Set, called Crimson & Crimson and here we will be introduced to the new Paldea region. It is also important that with the beginning of the new 0127511 era, several important map and product changes were decided, which we would like to introduce to you here in this short guide.
All changes from Crimson & Purple at a glance
Yellow borders are replaced
One of the most significant changes with Crimson & Crimson is definitely that maps of all upcoming international expansions will no longer have[0127511 0127512] a yellow border as usual, which you have become accustomed to since the beginning, but will now be color-matched to their Japanese counterparts. Now all Pokemon cards will have a silver border.
3 guaranteed foil cards in one booster pack
With the new expansion Crimson & Crimson, it will be the case that all Booster Packs will include 3 guaranteed Foil cards by default. Until now, you could only get 2 guaranteed foil cards in a booster pack.
The well-known Pokemon EX mechanic returns
With the new era, new Pokemon, their designs, and a new mechanic were also introduced. This is the already known EX mechanics, so it should be exciting again.
The Pokemon TCG will be more expensive
In the wake of the new era, the Pokemon Company is 0127512] increasing its prices for Pokemon products. This is justified by the current world situation. The price is now to be e.g. no longer $3.99, but $4.49 per booster.
New card type confirmed
The Japanese equivalent of our Crimson & Crimson Base Set has already confirmed a new, unique card type. From now on, there will be so-called Teracrystal cards. There are no pictures of this yet, but some leaks confirmed this.
Other changes to the map design
Crimson & Crimson is used to create subcategories for trainer cards such as Trainer Cards. Added supporters, items, and stadiums in the upper left corner to make map design easier0127512]. From now on, energy cards have another energy symbol in the lower right corner. The top of the map now shows the name of the energy. The well-known set symbols are exchanged for smaller codes from Crimson & Purple. The revealed ex-cards now also have a so-called double star rarity.
Special Art Rare & AR Cards for the Crimson & Purple Base Set confirmed
The Special Art Rare (SAR) and Art Rare (AR) cards introduced in the VSTAR Universe set have now been confirmed for the International Crimson & Purple Base Set. At least a SAR and some AR cards. More will follow.

Conclusion
As you could see, there will be some, sometimes very big, changes to Crimson & Crimson. Be it the omission of the popular and proven yellow border or the change that every booster pack will now always contain 3 guaranteed foil cards. The decided price increase of Pokemon products is also likely to cause hot discussions among all Pokemon fans. But apart from all this, in our opinion, there are also beautiful artworks and very interesting mechanics with the beginning of the new era of Crimson & Crimson, which may already be familiar to one or the other. Perhaps this will also rekindle the individual passion for collecting.
All in all, it will definitely be interesting to see what else Crimson & Purple will have in store. But we are always looking forward to the new era.
