Top 10 from the Sword & Shield Era

In this top 10 list, we present the 10 most expensive Pokémon cards from the Sword & Shield era. There were definitely some valuable Pokémon cards in this era, but which cards do you think made it into our top 10?

In our ranking, we include cards in both English & German languages.

Our Top 10

Rank 10

The top 10 begins with the beautiful Leafeon VMAX card from the Evolving Skies set. This Pokémon is the Grass evolution of Eevee and one of the most popular Pokémon in the franchise. The card starts at approx. 150€ onwards.

Folipurba VMAX AA

Rank 9

Rank 9 of our top 10 also goes to an Eevee evolution from the Evolving Skies set. This time, however, it's the Ice evolution Glaceon, more specifically Glaceon VMAX AA. The card is magnificent and fetches around 160€. The Pikachu in the picture only makes the card better (and more expensive).

Glaziola VMAX AA

Rank 8

Rank 8 goes to the Alternative Artwork Gengar VMAX card from the Fusion Strike set. This Pokémon is also an absolute fan favorite and probably the most popular and iconic Ghost Pokémon in existence. The card is currently available for approx. 165€.

Gengar VMAX AA

Rank 7

Rank 7 on our top 10 represents a special case, as this spot is awarded twice. Charizard V and Charizard VMAX are worth the same amount; both cost around 170€ and both cards also come from the same set, Champion's Path.

Champion's Path is currently available at a great price in our shop, just click here.

Glurak V
Glurak VMAX Rainbow Rare

Rank 6

Sixth place on our top 10 list is again occupied by a Charizard. This time, however, by the Alternative Artwork Charizard from the Brilliant Stars set. The artwork is truly majestic, showing it fighting against Venusaur. You can purchase it for around 180€.

Glurak V AA

Rank 5

Rank number 5 goes to the Alternative Artwork Lugia from the Silver Tempest set. It currently sits at approx. 210€. No wonder, as it looks simply incredible on this card.

Lugia V AA

Rank 4

Just missing the podium, but still in a very strong 4th place on our top 10 list, is the Alternative Artwork Espeon VMAX from the Fusion Strike set. It currently costs around 220€ and it might be surprising to some that this card is relatively high up, but that's just how it is. Once again, it becomes clear that Fusion Strike might be somewhat underrated.

Psiana V AA

Rank 3

Bronze goes to Rayquaza VMAX alternate art from the Evolving Skies set; currently, you can buy it for around 240€. An incredibly beautiful card, but also really valuable.

Rayquaza VMAX AA

Rank 2

Rank 2 goes to the Alternative Artwork Giratina V from the Lost Origin set. The card goes for approx. 250€. Quite a lot of money for a single Pokémon card, but still nothing compared to our rank 1 of the Sword & Shield era.

Lost Origin is currently available at a great price in our shop, just click here.

Giratina V AA

Rank 1

The winner of our top 10 list is clear: Umbreon VMAX AA wins this top 10 by a mile. This card is not only magnificently designed but also incredibly valuable. Currently, this card alone sells for around 500€. Truly unbelievable.

Nachtara VMAX AA

Conclusion

So that was it, our Top 10 most expensive Pokémon cards from the Sword & Shield era.

Personally, we didn't think so many Eevee evolutions would be represented here. For example, we firmly expected the iconic Rainbow Rare Pikachu VMAX from Vivid Voltage, but unfortunately, that card just missed the top 10. Nevertheless, only truly magnificent cards are represented here, all of which would look great in any collection. We are definitely super satisfied and are already looking forward to the new, upcoming Scarlet & Violet era and are very excited to see which cards will make it onto a Top 10 there.
